There are 5 steps I utilize in working with an organization to develop their Strategic Plan:

  1. Defining Your Intentions- Setting Intentions for what you want to occur with the Strategic Plan is extremely important. Remember it is a process so there can be a lot of goals set for what occurs DURING the process of development as well

  2. Planning Your Planning - Working with the Executive Team or All Staff to gather and build the framework and foundation

  3. Getting to the Dirty Work- Developing the Vision, Mission, Values, Goals, Objectives, Outcomes and ACTION PLAN

  4. Feedback Time- Getting feedback on your draft plan is important and this comes in all forms- In house with staff, focus groups, online surveys, public forms, etc...

  5. Implementation time- Determining levels of engagement, frequency of revision, Impact on Organization, community and Partners
